92 deaths, 7 still missing in UN

Ninety-two UN employees were killed by the earthquake in Haiti and 7 are still missing nearly three weeks after the disaster, said today the head of UN operations there, Edmond Mulet.
“So far we have 92 confirmed deaths and another seven people missing,” said Mr. Mulet, acting chief of the UN Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (MINUSTAH), during an audio Press conference from Port-au-Prince.
The previous record for the United Nations, gave Friday reported 84 dead and 15 missing.
Mr. Mulet said that 30 other UN employees were injured by the earthquake of January 12, which completely destroyed the building which was the headquarters of MINUSTAH.
The disaster was total some 170,000 deaths and about one million homeless, a population of 9 million inhabitants.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Americas.
